What to Expect

REWIND TO PUNK ROCK, VIDEO GAMES, FLIP PHONES AND COMICS! As aspiring filmmakers/script writers, our story will take you back 20 years. This is a coming-of-age comedy/romance, with a 2000s nostalgia based visual direction, as well as relatable teen/young adult setting. Having the reminiscent feel of the 80s/90s teen flicks such Breakfast Club, Dazed and Confused, Empire Records and 10 Things I Hate About You, but with a 2000s twist. Our soundtrack will be a key element in representing each of the characters, which are meant to appeal to any and every audience. The music will be a blend across all different genres from punk rock, hip-hop, video game inspired and many more that encapsulates the time period, also bringing in these communities. Having many stylish/flashy camera movements that make the series engaging and exciting. Viewers and different groups watching, will not just be in for an exciting time watching our story and characters, but will also experience a comforting, down to earth feel. Our project will serve as a retrospective period piece that older viewers will latch on to while younger viewers can appreciate it. This will make it seem the audience can hang out with their group of friends on the screen and joining them on this nostalgic summer ride!

The Creators:

Joshua Winn, Noah Winn, Joshua Garrido and Matthew Roehm have been friends for many years sharing the love of film, storytelling, gaming, and nostalgia from the 2000s. My brother (Noah Winn) and I (Joshua Winn) grew up in Irwin PA and lived in Pittsburgh. Many spots bring back core memories of our days in Pittsburgh before moving to Raleigh North Carolina over ten years ago. I have had a TV series idea for many years before the screenplay began. One day at the mall we brought up a short film that I was working on with my brother (Noah) and creating a music score for. I began to talk about the 2000s teen coming of age idea I had and right away my friends and I brainstormed. I knew what the premise was and we explained our creativity in making character music themes, animated drawings, short film scenes and developing our story. We know people would fall in love with the relatable story we created as friends basing many experiences we shared and had. Our dream is to get it out to film studios who appreciate this type of storytelling and create something special that can have an iconic footprint on a television series.

All of us being separated in different areas with college its hard to come together and film our series but are script, story and concepts will not leave.

We are currently creating the funding for our story to make it come to life!
